Born From a Journey. Built for a Community

CoverHER Foundation was created from a deeply personal understanding of what it means to hear the words, “You have breast cancer.”

What began as one woman's journey became a vision to create something bigger—a community committed to making sure women navigating breast cancer feel seen, supported, connected, and covered.

Our Story

CoverHER Foundation was born from a journey we never expected—but one that revealed just how deeply a woman can need to be covered.

When our founder, Quineshia Leonard, heard the words “you have breast cancer,” life changed in an instant. What followed was more than chemotherapy, appointments, tests, and preparing for surgery. It was learning firsthand that cancer doesn't only affect the body. It touches your family, your finances, your emotions, your responsibilities, your relationships, and the everyday pieces of life that don't stop simply because you're fighting to survive.

And somewhere in the middle of that journey, a purpose began to take shape.

Quineshia realized that while medical teams work tirelessly to treat the cancer, there are countless spaces between appointments where women still need to be cared for. Sometimes covering HER looks like a meal when she doesn't have the strength to cook. A ride when treatment leaves her unable to drive. Help finding a resource she didn't know existed. Someone checking in. A community surrounding her family. Or simply another woman reminding her, “You don't have to do this alone.”

That realization became CoverHER Foundation.

We exist to help fill those gaps—to surround women impacted by breast cancer with practical support, meaningful connection, resources, encouragement, and community throughout the journey.

What began with one HER is becoming a community determined to cover many.

We see HER. We support HER. We COVER HER.

Our Mission

To support women impacted by breast cancer by providing practical assistance, meaningful connection, resources, outreach, and compassionate community—ensuring that every HER feels seen, supported, and covered throughout her journey.

Our Vision

We envision a world where no woman faces breast cancer feeling alone, unseen, or unsupported—a community where every HER is surrounded by the care, resources, connection, and hope she needs to navigate her journey with strength and dignity.

Meet Our Founder

Quineshia Leonard

Founder, CoverHER Foundation

Quineshia Leonard is the founder and heart behind CoverHER Foundation—a vision born from her own journey with breast cancer and her desire to make that journey a little less heavy for the women who come after her.

While navigating diagnosis, chemotherapy, surgery, family, work, and the responsibilities of everyday life, Quineshia experienced firsthand how much happens outside of the treatment room. Her journey opened her eyes to the practical, emotional, and everyday gaps that can leave women feeling overwhelmed and unsupported.

Rather than allowing her experience to end with her, Quineshia chose to turn it into service.

Through CoverHER Foundation, she is building the kind of community she believes every woman deserves when facing breast cancer: one that shows up, listens, connects, encourages, remembers, and helps carry the weight.

For Quineshia, CoverHER is more than an organization. It is a promise that what she has walked through will be used to help cover someone else.

“If my journey can make another HER's journey a little easier, then none of this was in vain.”
